How to troubleshoot a laser tube malfunction

May 22, 2026
1. Check the cooling system. If the chiller temperature is too high or there is a water pump failure, it can cause the temperature of the laser tube to rise, affecting power output. Be sure to regularly clean and replace the cooling water. The optimal temperature is between 15-25°C. The tube should not have scale or air bubbles. If there is scale, it can be cleaned with 20% dilute hydrochloric acid.
2. Check the power supply of the laser tube. Note that each laser tube of different power must be paired with a reliable laser power supply.
3. Turn off the power and inspect the laser tube, mirror, and focusing lens for dirt. Clean them regularly.
4. If the above issues are not present, the laser tube may have already aged and may need to be replaced.
